Interactive Discussion exploring the power and tools of mindfulness as a vehicle to recognise, manage, overcome and reduce trauma.
Many people who have been directly or indirectly involved in a traumatic experience, find it difficult to process their emotions in the aftermath, and yet mindfulness is rarely recommended as a tool for self-regulation, despite new research proving its effectiveness.
We can all learn to process the impact of a traumatic experience by learning to slow down and take a break from overthinking and instead try to focus on the present. What to expect? This interactive discussion will use Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy (MBAT) to enable participants to explore the impact that trauma has on their wellbeing, as well as learn how to express their emotions in order to think, feel, and act more positively. Pen and Paper needed. Who is it for?
